ANSWERS workshop logo

Easter Seals Michigan partnered with the Judson Center to host a FREE educational workshop for parents and caregivers of children newly diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

The event was held on Saturday, March 9th.  We had ten presenters from 5 different agencies (ESM, Judson Center, Autism Alliance of Michigan, Autism Ask, and Health Dimensions Compounding Pharmacy). Each gave a brief overview of topics that families newly diagnosed with Autism will hear about but may not have a good understanding: Autism basics, insurance, a young adult with ASD’s perspective, a parent’s perspective, family dynamics and coping with the diagnosis, ABA, PLAY Project, Speech and Language Therapy, Sensory Integration Therapy, Neurofeedback, Biomedical Interventions, partnering with the schools and basic understanding if Individual Education Plans.

100% of the people submitting evaluations (67% submitted evals) said they "agree" or "strongly agree" that “It was a good choice for me to register for Easter Seals ANSWERS.”

75% said that they "Strongly Agree" that they would recommend ANSWERS to other parents (100% agree or strongly agree).

The workshop ended at 3:30 but many participants stayed an extra 45 minutes talking to the presenters.
