26th ANNUAL “FOR WOMEN ONLY” SNOWMOBILE RIDE RAISES $38,429 FOR EASTER SEALS MICHIGAN
AUBURN HILLS, MI (FEB 5, 2013) – After a month of unseasonable temperatures, the weather cooperated for the 26th Annual For Women Only (FWO) Snowmobile extravaganza, which raised $38,429 for Easter Seals Michigan.
Money collected by the 39 women who participated in this year’s fundraiser will be used to support Easter Seals’ programs, benefitting children and adults with disabilities or behavioral illness statewide. Over the past 26 years, FWO riders have raised an impressive total of $2.3 million for Easter Seals, assisting in the agency’s mission to create solutions for the people it serves.
“Mother Nature hasn’t always been faithful to us during FWO, but our riders have,” says Easter Seals Michigan President and CEO Brent Wirth. “Each one of them has taken their enthusiasm for snowmobiling and transformed it into a means to improve the lives of people with physical disabilities and behavioral illness. They are the reason that the children and adults who turn to Easter Seals for guidance succeed.”
The 2014 FWO will be held February 7-9, 2014 at a location yet to be determined (Grayling or Gaylord). Additional information, sponsorship opportunities and registration are now available by contacting Kevin Kelly at Easter Seals Michigan at 248.475.6412 or kkelly@essmichigan.org.
