Dr. Richard Solomon Named Vice President of Medical Affairs for Easter Seals MichiganAUBURN HILLS, MI (January 22, 2013) -- Easter Seals Michigan has named Richard Solomon, M.D. as its new Vice President of Medical Affairs, effective immediately. In this role, Dr. Solomon will be responsible for developing policy and strategic plans governing Easter Seals Michigan’s medical emphasis, will interface with regulatory authorities and provide leadership support, strategic direction, and administrative guidance as well as serve as a mentor to new/current medical staff members. Dr. Solomon will provide medical leadership and serve as the central liaison between Easter Seals Michigan and other stakeholder groups, including hospitals, physicians and physicians groups. As a member of the organization’s Leadership Team, Dr. Solomon will collaborate with President and CEO Brent Wirth and other leaders. “He brings an immense amount of passion, commitment and knowledge to our organization. He has been a valuable partner and friend of ours for many years,” Wirth said. This new role will significantly enhance Easter Seals Michigan’s efforts in further designing and developing its innovative specialty health care solutions to the children, youth and families served by ESM. This addition is a reflection of the organization’s strengths that builds on its exceptional services and the skills of our psychiatrists and staff. “I am very proud to be a part of Easter Seals Michigan and I value the opportunity we have to positively impact the lives of thousands around the state,” Solomon said. Dr. Solomon is board-certified in general pediatrics and developmental and behavioral pediatrics. His career includes much more than working with children, but those of all ages, as well as in administration of insurance programs, centers and hospitals.
Easter Seals Michigan Now Offering Treatment to Those Battling Substance AbuseMICHIGAN (December 7, 2012) – Easter Seals Michigan has been awarded a substance abuse service contract through the County of Oakland Public Office of Substance Abuse. This allows Easter Seals Michigan to provides substance abuse treatment at all of its Oakland County locations. This Easter Seals Michigan Outpatient Treatment Program will include early intervention, co-occurring services, case management, peer recovery supports, and outpatient treatment for youth, families, and adults. Seeking help is the most important first step towards recovery. Easter Seals Michigan is committed to serving those struggling with alcohol and drug abuse so they can successfully live, learn, work and play in their communities. “Easter Seals Michigan has had a 93-year history of providing effective and innovative services and continuously adapting to the ever-changing needs of communities we serve,” said Easter Seals Michigan President and CEO Brent Wirth. “This extension of our current array of services is one way that we continue to evolve to meet the needs of those in our communities.” This program is currently available for both day and evening hours. Easter Seals Michigan Partners with Oakland Integrated Healthcare Network to Continue Providing Affordable CareAUBURN HILLS, MI (November 16, 2012) - Easter Seals Michigan is pleased to announce a new partnership with Oakland Integrated Healthcare Network (OHIN) providing integrated healthcare that will ensure continued access to affordable medical care, working out of the Easter Seals Michigan’s Southfield campus. Created earlier this year by Oakland County Community Mental Health Authority, OIHN is an organization that provides affordable, coordinated healthcare services, both behavioral and medical health, in one convenient location. OIHN offers treatment for illnesses and medical disabilities, as well as preventive care such as physicals and PAP smears. Lab services, diagnostic tests and various treatments are also available on-site. OIHN welcomes those with any insurance, including Medicaid, Medicare and Veterans health care. Service is also available to non-insured individuals and families. The medical center welcomes both scheduled and walk-in appointments. To schedule an appointment call OIHN at (248) 724-7600 to ask to schedule an appointment with the physician at the Southfield location.
