Promoting Independent Living
Independent Living: Out and About offered in Kent County area by an Occupational Therapist promotes independent living skills, home safety/ fall prevention assessment, ADL assessment and intervention, healthy lifestyles, and the opportunity to socialize and form support groups with other older adults. The Kent County program is funded in part by the Kent County Senior Millage funds from the Area Agency on Aging.
Caring for Caregivers offered in Kent County by an Occupational Therapist trains the caregiver in home safety/ fall prevention and activities of daily living (ADL) intervention for their loved one. Caregivers also learn ways in which to care for themselves. The program is funded in part by the Older Americans Act grant from the Area Agency on Aging of West Michigan.
